‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected, among more than 4500 films submitted, to participate to the International Competition of the 22nd Brussels Short Film Festival, to be held from 25th April – 5th May 2019 in Belgian capital.
Brussels Short Film Festival is an exhibition intended for lovers of cinema, both audience and professionals. The purpose is to promote and circulate short films and to generate contacts between audience, young directors and professionals. Since 2018, the winner of the Great Prize of the International competition will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film/ Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of the international competition at 31st FILMFEST DRESDEN International Short Film Festival, to be held from 9th – 14th April 2019 in Dresden, Germany.
FILMFEST DRESDEN was founded in 1989 before the imminent collapse of the GDR and reunification of Germany. The short film festival focuses on short film in all its facets, and has become one of the most important festivals of its kind throughout Germany. FILMFEST DRESDEN is also one of the best endowed short film festivals in Europe with prizes and awards worth €67,000. By now, FILMFEST DRESDEN awards each year prizes worth €67,000, and attracts around 20,000 international and national visitors, including 550 professionals. Since 2017, the festival has also become more and more accessible: each year, several competition programmes are screened with audio description for the visually impaired and extended German subtitles for people with hearing impairment in order to make the festival accessible to these target groups. Additionally, the subsequent film discussions as well as the opening and awards ceremony are accompanied and translated by German sign language interpreters. The festival team is also supported by a specially founded advisory board, “Cinema without barriers”. Thus, FILMFEST DRESDEN is taking on a pioneering role among German film festivals in terms of accessibility and inclusion.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of 7th International Changing Perspectives Film Festival, to be held from 6th – 10th March 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The International Changing Perspectives Short Film Festival is an international take-away film festival dealing with the topic of cultural exchange. The festival will start in Istanbul with a week program. During the year there will be other screenings in various European cities. Filmmakers will be invited and academic panel discussions on the topic of academic cultural exchange will be held. As part of Katadrom Arts, Culture and Social Politics Association the ICPSFF also aims to stimulate artistic and cultural creativity. Its special aim is to provide a platform for young critical fimmakers who deal with the wide variation of cultural exchange.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of 14th Central and Eastern European Film Festival (A l’Est du Nouveau), to be held from 26th February – 5th March 2019 in Rouen, France.
A l’Est du Nouveau has a mission to discover the latest films from Central and Eastern European countries, new and innovative films, both by their form and their content, on societies where they come from.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of International Competiton at 11th edition of Short Waves Festival 2019, to be held from 19th – 24th March 2019 in Poznan, Poland.
Short Waves Festival is a network of film events scattered around the urban space of Poznan. It’s core consists of competition screenings – a carefully put together selection of outstanding short films grouped into three categories: International Competition, Polish Competition and Dances with Camera. Short Waves Festival is also themed screening selections such as Comedy Shorts and Girl Power, focus program and innovative audiovisual events.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of International Competiton at 14th edition of Prague Short Film Festival, to be held from 23rd – 27th January 2019 in the capital of Czech Republic.
Prague Short Films Festival is organized by Film Servis Festival Karlovy Vary, organizer of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The best and most inspiring short films from all over the world head towards the Czech capital again, where they will be presented at the 14th Prague Short Films Festival. The audience will have the opportunity to watch dozens of films in traditional sections – the international competition, the overview program of current Czech cinema, the experimental films section Labo and the late night Brutal Relax Show.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of official selection at 14th edition of Passaggi d’Autore: intrecci mediterranei, to be held from 4th – 9th December 2018 in Sardinia’s Sant’Antioco, Italy.
“Passaggi d’Autore: intrecci mediterranei” is organized by the Cinema Club “Immagini” and takes place in Sant’Antioco since 2005. Born as a festival of short films of Sardinian authors, from the second edition the festival has added the cinematography of Mediterranean Countries.
The festival is without competition and the aim is to promote the short film as an effective and current form of expression and, at the same time, to promote young film makers who use the short film to express their own point of view about the contemporary society.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj has been selected to be the part of ‘BRAVE BALKANS‘ program at 24th edition of Auteur Film Festival (FAF), one of the most famous Belgrade cultural manifestations, and an important event for film lovers in Serbia.
The 24th edition of Auteur Film Festival, FAF, will take place in Belgrade from November 24 – 30. 2018. The audience will once again have the opportunity to enjoy a carefully-curated selection of the best independent, arthouse and films d’auteur released in the past couple of years from across the world.
‘FENCE‘ by Lendita Zeqiraj will be screened at PORTO/POST/DOC film festival on November 29th 2018, a spart of ‘We’ve Only Just Begun: Kosovo Stories‘ program curated by DOKUFEST’s Artistic Director, Veton Nurkollari .
Porto/Post/Doc is back in 2018. Festival as a party, that is, as a meeting point for creators, diverse audiences and film professionals, as an intersection of experiences and the pleasure of living moving images in the most beautiful venues of the city of Porto. Porto/Post/Doc takes place between November 24 and December 2, in several theaters of the city.
